External Communications – Golf Tips featuring Section PGA Members

Summary: With a reasonable budget, Sections can create a PR platform that features Section PGA Members, showcases that PGA Professionals are the experts in the game and also builds relationships with key local media who cover the sport.
The Illinois Section has seen some success and garnered good recognition for our PGA Members thanks to relationships built with a few leading local media outlets. This program was accomplished through a modest sponsorship of the top local golf radio and TV shows as well as with the leading suburban Chicago daily newspaper. The total investment for all three of these relationships has run just under $10,000 annually (plus a few rounds of golf) and some of the benefits are listed below. The Illinois Section has been able to offset 50% of this expense through a sponsorship agreement.
